Snowboard Trip Christmas 2020

Here a small recap about a Christmas trip we had with our friends Elise and Michael. We had a big roadtrip planned that has stops in Sun Peaks, Revelstroke and finally Rossland. In total 3 ski resorts over 8 days. A lot of snowboarding, driving and fun ahead!

Sun Peaks

This was our first stop and we tried to take it easy and not exhaust ourselves too much in the beginning. We had beautiful weather and nice snow.

For the two nights we stayed at a nice apartment with hot tub in Kelowna. It is a lot cheaper and it made the drive the day after to Revelstroke easier.

Now I always loved this town and resort, but this time was something special because of the snow fall we had. We were lucky to arrive the day because a day later roads were blocked from all the snowfall. Was this meant for us was a day with 30+ cm of snow. A pow day like I never experienced it before. Gliding down fresh tracks anywhere was just special.

A beautiful sunny day made the experience so much better.

Other that that we had some good food in town like at the Taco Club where also got some good hot sauce. After several days it was time to go to our final destination: RED Mountain. We took the Hwy 23 south and the ferry to cross over at Shelter Bay and then stayed in Trail for the coming days.

The first day after arriving we wanted to take it a bit easier, so we did some snowshoeing at the Nancy Green Summit - Strawberry Pass Trailhead. There are multple small huts that can be easily accessed. Overall a nice and easy trip for a few hours.

After being out for the day we made ourselves a nice small Christmas meal, which ended up as a mix of different cuisines.

The next two days we had some more great times on the mountains, exploring different sections of the resort. Overall weather was great and it was not too busy.

On the 27th it was time to head back home along Hwy 3 to Vancouver. Here just one more stop at the Deadwood Junction in Greenwood, a great cafe to stop at, esp if you like giant cookies.

That's all, cheers!
