BVI Sailboat Trip 2022

This is part 1 of our journey to the British Virgin Islands. An epic trip with our friends to explore the islands via Sailboat, a true lifetime experience. Our trip started in St. Thomas where our flight arrived.

We were greeted with sunshine and a beautiful ocean, getting our first drink to celebrate arrival

From there we took the ferry over to Road Town (Tortola) in the BVI to pick up the boat.

the ferry was surprisingly fast and I almost lost my hat.

We arrived when it was already getting dark, so we quickly checked into our hotel Sebastian's on the beach, an absolute gem. The hotel is literally next to the beach, so you can hear the waves crashing in when going to sleep. The next day we took it easy by trying some snorkling to test our gear (spoiler: tons of problems with the cheap Amazon stuff)

We also explored the surrondings a bit, like ths rum brewery, which was sadly closed when we arrived.

Then it was finally time to pick up our sailboat in Road Town. Everything went somewhat smoothly and we loaded up all our food the we bought at the local supermarket (there was some debate on how much we should pay to get groceries delivered).

Once out on the water our first stop was Norman Island to check out Willy T. This is a famous pirate themed bar. We were still in the pre-season, so it wasn't as busy as we expected. Still a fun night with friends on an incredible location.

The next day real sailing began and I'll just leave some impressions here. Over the next couple of days we explored ship wrecks, the Baths and many other spots. The best park was just sitting on the boat and enjoying time with our friends though.

Here we arrived on Anegada island, the northernmost of the British Virgin Islands. A bit more remote, so not as busy and incredible snorkling.

And then back to Road Town with another stop along the way at the Bubbly Pool on the island Jost Van Dyke.
