Well Gray Roadtrip 2021

Flashback to 2021 when our friend Michelle joined us for a BC roadtrip to Wells Gray Provincvial Park, which is best known for it's spectacular waterfalls. From Vancouver it's about a 6 hour drive to Clearwater, a town that marks the entrance to the park. For 3 days we booked a small cabin at Cedar Haven Cabins and Resort, which was an absolute treat. The cabin was spacious and outside was a fireplace and a public sauna, which was ideal after a long day out.

Since we only had a few days we had to pick our waterfalls to visit. Below are some impressions from the ones we've seen:

And then we also visited Silvertip Falls and a few more. It's not easy keeping track of all!

Another fun activity was playing disc golf at the Wells Gray Resort, a challenging course for us beginners and we lost a few to many discs in their ponds. But it was fun driving the golf cart around.

After our time at the park was done we did a small detour exploring further in the North-West. We first drove up to Williams Lake and then towards Bella Coola, but making a turn at some point to get to the Farwell Canyon View Point. This is a special place because there are actually sand dunes to explore. Hard to belive finding this in BC!

I have seen videos of people sandboarding them down, it was such an interesting experience and the views were great as well.

Getting down we took the direct path, which was quite steep.

Asa final adventure we took down the forest service road alongside the Fraser River, which passes along seveal first nation towns. It was very senic, but I also don't want to imagine having the car breaking down at any point. Luckily we made it home save and for the final stretch we took Highway 1 back.
