After our time in London we headed to our next destination: Austria. In particular we want to Ischgl since I saw it as a random recommendation for snowboarding destinations. To get there we took the plane to Innsbruck and from there the train to the town, which worked out well (except the taxis only taking cash and we didn't have any on hand).
We stayed at Hotel Idhof for three nights, which was lovely. A specious room, a big sauna area to relax after a day outside and an incredible breakfast buffet each morning. The first day on the mountain I didn't feel well, so we cut it short but overnight it snowed like cracy and we had absolute perfect conditions the next day with deep snow. Another great thing about their ski resorts is that a lot of the newer chairs have covers and heating.
Besides snowboarding we also had some good food (Spaetzle) and we went to a giant spa (Silvretta Therme) with multiple saunas and cold plunges, hot tubs as well as an ice room. The person doing the "Aufguss" was apparently competing in competions, that's how serious they are taking it.
Once our time was up we went to Bremen to visit friends. We did a little hike together to catch up.
As well as spending time with their families
For one day we also did a tour to Hamburg to explore some wildlife like these crocs and eels
Another things we did was watching the Harry Potter play (was kinda meh) and going to the Vitaly Spa (incredible)
We also found a nice Japanese restaurant in Bremen since we had cravings for Asian food
After our time with friends we went to Goettingen to see my familiy and didn't miss a chance to play some disc golf
As a final stopover we went to Iceland for a day, rented a car and went to the black beach. A crazy drive on a toght deadline, but it worked out in the end.
That's it!
